We’ve chosen the name “Lamb of God” for three reasons. The first is that Jesus is the sacrificial Lamb of God. Through his death he brings forgiveness of sins for all who cling to him in faith. The second reason is that we as a congregation point to Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,” just as John the Baptist did in John 1. The final reason is that as we are seeking to start a church, we realize that the church is the “Bride of the Lamb.” Jesus provides for and cares for his church, just like a loving spouse.
